    Default laptop Video GPU

    i wanna upgrade my laptop's GeForce 8400M GS to the 8600M, is it possible to do it myself of will i have to upgrade the whole mobo. its pci-e, custom built laptop off ibuypower.com

    i really don't know much about laptops...but since it's pci-e....it should be easy to replace...im thinking that the card would be on the bottom of the mobo, and it should slide right off.....idk..

    or....you can call the them and ask them to do it....cuz if you do it, it might void your warrenty....

    i was thinking the same thing since it was PCI-E. they dont care if i open it really though, but ill take a look tomorrow.
