heard about this earlier.... tisk tisk
we are screwed
I read it but I don't get it. So what happened? We used too much water and no one noticed? So they can't let water out of Buford Dam because we're low? Whose fault is it? Army or the State or both?
hehe not me i'm on well water..
but when that runs out wer're gonna get the shaft.. you know why they pumped thse millions of galllons a day out right? to save some kind of fish or some ****.. fuk those bitches, humans first

Carol Couch will be sitting on the couch soon. Shes getting replaced in January by a new EPD Director. Its kinda funny how we're in a ration but we sell water from allatoona and laneir to Alabama. Wonder if their on a ration?
actually both if i am not mistaken

We're not neccessarily screwed. If the EPD Director finished grade school science class, she would know that banning lawn watering would be one of the last things she should do.
Okay, so they pumped a sh!tload of water out to save some fish? WTF?Originally Posted by §treet_§peed
Umm..ok. And they just realized, "Oh gosh, we used all this water and we don't have much for ourselves. So everyone, we have to PINCH TIGHT on water?"
Is that what happened? If so, STUPID ASSHOLES ARE SAVING A FISH?! Can we EAT this fish? Will this fish do me any good in anyway? If not, then worry bout it later....they have natural instincts to survive don't they?

yeah that should survie after are i think they have been here for millions of years before us. besidess it was some fich or clam or some ****. they pumped that water out to help save them from the drought or whatever

This is why shes getting fired. Poor management thats got everyone pissed about this. Its ok. i've been using gray-water to wash my car. Hooking the hose up to the sink in my house. You use less water washing your car @ home versus taking it to those drive through car washesOriginally Posted by JDM onlyy
lol im still going to the car wash to wash it.. think i might go tomorrow and wash it

She must be one of those environmentalists that wants to save all the animals but never think that if you do sooooo much for an animal, they won't be able to survive on their own, and plus the fact that what you're doing could harm your own species. We already die enough from diseases, murders, and just accidents...Why harm ourselves for these fishes? ****ing fags...Originally Posted by blank cd
Theres a detailed water cycle. Simply put, since no one is watering their lawns, theres no water evaporating into the sky to turn back into rain. Thats why you see alot of cloudless, sunny, blue sky days. On top of that, grass is (i think) the 2nd bigest provider of OXYGEN, the stuff humans need to LIVEOriginally Posted by JDM onlyy
I thought it was something with moisture in the ground. I just couldn't remember...Originally Posted by blank cd
Sucks if you own property there. The lake behind my parents house is low this month for the first time in over 20 years, I think they should sell before the same thing happens to us.

I cant get into those car washes, too damn low. Last time my cars tow hook caught on the track and ****ed up the timing of the whole thing, i had to get pushed over it and my car had a whole bunch of soap left over since it didnt get rinsed properlyOriginally Posted by §treet_§peed
Lake down the street from my house looks as full as ever. I remember seeing it getting dry at one point, but right now...it looks as full and pretty as it ever has.Originally Posted by Kyle

We'll survive. I used to live in Santa Clara, CA and we were constantly rationing. It rained on maybe 30 days a year total, mostly in one season. Sure, you cant water your yard (dont have grass really anyway) or wash the car, but there was always enough for home use. When I see people running sprinklers out in the yard off of tap water, I just have to scratch my head. I really like to watch them watering the yard in the rain...thats just brilliant. This is just a reality check.
They should have started inforcing rationing a long time ago. Hopefully they'll learn from this for the future.
Having us send millions of gallons of water to Florida every week/month/whatever with no set limit or circumstance is just stupid and that's why our lakes are going dry. Had they set some limitations in this requirement, then we'd be fine.
Actually most car washes recycle about 90% of their water. That's why they are still allowed to operate during this crisis.
I agree about the watering of the lawns.

We are sending that water because there is an endangered Muscle that will die without the water. See, in the big scope of things, endangered species comes before car washing, lawn watering and even Human needs. Thats why Florida is getting all that water.Originally Posted by Ran

I wasn't referring to the car washing and other human needs. I can take my car to the car wash. I was referring to our lakes going dry due to some asanine bill. Pretty sure it's not doing our local environment any good.Originally Posted by Glides

thats not how things work - we can deal without taking a shower every few days - look at the mall of georgia - they had to relocate it over about 3000 feet one way because initial development plans laid it out on a natural marshland ( its right there by the mall, you can walk it by the Wendys at the back ) which had an endangered FLY species. Cost developers millions in the relocation, but in the end it ensures the survival of a species. We can live just peachy, sure my nuts my get smelly from ball sweat, but who cares, more fun to teabag women with them.Originally Posted by §treet_§peed

maybe it'll hurricane/monsoon/heavy rain for a month straight.
This shouldn't have been a surprise, we've had some type of water ban every summer and fall since I can remember. More people keep moving here (causing demand to go up), and they've done nothing to increase the supply. Well wtf did they think would happen if we had a drought?
How about a desalination plant on the coast, and pump the water in?
