defense was holding it down...a little...lol
Read:
Coaching: Petrino, Jackson, Zimmer - I feel that this is a good foundation for the future of this Franchise. Petrino and Jackson have great history behind QB and WR coaching which could build into a better relationships between our QBs and WRs. Zimmer has done wonders from the squad under Donatell.
I see a more aggressive team that plays all four quarters.
O-line: The reason behind the 1-4 start can be attributed to our weak O-line. I feel that our O-line gets pushed around especially at the LT position played by either Veteran Gandy or Rookie Foster. For now our Center is playing "alright" though I would certainly prefer a bigger guy on all of these positions. Too many defensive players seem to be getting through untouched. This will also lead to spotty QB play and horrible running game.
Quarterback: Believe it or not, Harrington and Leftwich could present some problems for the opposing teams. We have seen flashes of what-could-be from Vick & Harrington, because in those games our O-Line stepped it up. When a QB has more than 2 seconds to throw the ball, it makes a big difference.
Fullback and Halfback: Our second greatest problem/conflict with coaching scheme. We need a bigger back that can move the pile. We need him to be able to break some tackles while running north and south. Norwood is an excellent change of pace back with great speed and elusiveness. Dunn has the experience to run using blockers. But we don't have anyone that loves to run over people. Ovie Mughelli needs to prove his worth.
Wide Receivers: L. Robinson and R. White are doing an excellent job under the new coaching staff. M. Jenkins will continue to be a slot guy. J. Horn is basically here to be tutelage, but I doubt he knows that. B. Finneran might need to stick with his radio stint, he has been out of football for way too long and is too injury prone.
Tightend: We all know Crumpler is a great player, and our depth at TE is adequate. Though Crumpler has been more frequently hurt, I feel he has a few good years left in him.
D-Line: With JA and JA shoring up the ends and G. Jackson in the middle we should be dominating teams, but we will need to draft/sign some depth for the rotation. Trey Lewis looks pretty good along with Rod Coleman coming back from injury. Abraham looked extremely tired in the second half of the game with the Titans. We need to rotate them out and still have the presence of a pass rush.
Linebackers: Sad to say that our MLB Brooking is not handling the run very well. He is adept with coverages, but he doesn't have the size to stuff the run. M. Boley is superman ('nuff said), DMo looks a little slower than his previous seasons. I would like to see how he gets back into the game. Nicholas looks good. Still need to draft/sign someone to help out at the MLB position.
D-backs: We have some depth with D. Stone and D. Irons, I hope to see J. Williams develop and Houston seems to be transitioning. All these guys are either young or new to the position. It will take some time for them to be fully developed. But things look good. (D. Hall is playing great btw.)
Special Teams: At first, I thought we were pretty bad on the kicking teams. We need a long FG K. BTW, Jennings needs to step it up and our protection for him needs to do some work. Great block on the punt at the end of Titans game.
Overall, I think Crumpler was correct, we are trying to develop our young players, and phasing out some of the Veterans. However, he is incorrect about a lot of things. He has caught a few passes and also scored a TD. He is getting the ball. The coach is phasing out all the Veterans that are no longer producing. That means, Crumpler you are safe. On the other hand, there will be familiar faces let go.
To build a dynasty, you must look past any sentimental value of any individual and go purely on the actual output of the player. Because if and when we win, those in conflict with the team will be silenced.
LOL
I read it & thought their was a lotta truth in it.

Ok, can someone fill me in , why did they take Harrington out towards the end? That back up QB sucked ass, personally I think if Harrington was the QB we would have scored on those few oppurtunities.

Harrington deserves more credit. Our offensive line is mostly to blame.
