Aren't Bears somehow liked to the K9 family? If so, throw in a Kodiak and the tables may be a little more even. Other than that, I may have to give it up to the big cats.

The fossil record indicates that bears evolved from "dog-like" animals, thus the Family most closely related to Ursidae would be Canidae (the dogs)

Bears have actually strayed too far in their evolutionary path to still be considered close relatives of dogs.

There is only one 'bear' left that is very closely related to dogs because of that classification its not even a really a bear scientifically. That being the Panda.
