the thought of death doesn't worry me so much as the thought of leaving my loved ones with the pain of my death...

It doesn't matter to me. Once I'm gone, it won't matter anyway and any remorse or regret that I would have felt would be discarded into oblivion. Besides, I'm sure that my family is strong enough to get over it.

As for my choice, I don't think I'd like to go painlessly in my sleep. That's so...dull. After all, you only get to experience death once. Why not make the most of it?

How about falling from a building, like those people did on 9/11?

I hear that you go into shock before you actually hit the ground. So you probably wouldn't be conscious when you did die. I could be mistaken though.
