If by shitty, you mean busted up junk car with damanges, etc. - Yes.

if they can afford it, they should get at least a car in decent shape and in good running condition. Driving a shitty car is just asking for trouble when you're stranded or something like that.

simply an older car no necessarily damged and ubused, just older but still dependable. Then again, all we (third party) can go by is appearance.
