Joining in a little late here, but I voted "stick with my kind" simply because its all I know. Never have dated outside my race because I've never found someone outside my race I wanted to date. Not because I avoid them or anything just not really in a culturally diverse social strata. Never have been. I have friends whose girlfriends are of another race and I have friends that are other races that date girls that are the same race as me. Nothing against it, its just never happened to me.
I know there are differences between races simply because of culture though. I think this can cause a lot of stress and have witnessed it with my friends (one of my buddies dated a Jewish whose dad wouldn't let him in the house). Not sure I would put up with as much stress as some of them have to maintain the relationship. That may be because I'm not ready to really settle down so its not my mindset but I honestly don't know.

The first part is not a reason its just how it has been. Like I said later, I'm not exposed to a lot of cultural diversity because of my surroundings (I'm a white guy in a mostly white fraternity at GA Tech and the girls that come over here are almost all white, went to private Christian schools my whole life so pretty much the same). There is some cultural diversity but not a whole lot so not much chance for me to explore anything.
And the stress thing is partly what gets to you, but if the entire family doesn't approve (like what happened to my friend) there will be stress there no matter what you do. I've always believed when you get married you also marry the girls family. If you can't get along with them then you need to think about why. Also its important that my family approve so if the cultural difference is something they are against than it will affect my decision. My not be my belief but they are important to me and I'm not willing to risk damaging my relationship with them for something that may or may not work out. Never had this situation or asked them about it so I don't know what they think but this is hypothetical.

While I do agree with this to an extent, you should also realize that it is your life and your significant other's life. My grandparents weren't happy at all when they found out I had a (half)black daughter. They weren't Klan style racist, but they were the "stick to your own kind" people, too. But it's my life. Another thing about "sticking with your own kind"...it seems to shroud those people's view. I mean, say you meet a girl who interests you in all aspects...except she's of a different ethnicity. You're right on that. The only two races of female that are as loyal to their dude over any other race is Hispanic and Asian. It's just part of their culture. Especially Hispanic. They are raised with huge family loyalty and values. And they are more accepting of any race when one of their own brings in another person from another race. When I first went to Mexico City with my new GF(she was from there), I was immediately accepted into the family. What a wonderful culture they have.
