Ive gone to court 3 times for tickets and gotten out of them or have had them reduced.

No radar, and no laser. Its impossible to have followed me for half a mile. He was doing 70 to catch up to me, that DOESNT mean I was doing 70.

I would have asked for proof......
I do think you should fight it.
City of Atlanta courts are so busy, I imagine if you challenged it, they'd drop it....

I did ask, he got pissed, got back in his patrol car, sat for another 15 minutes, figured out he couldnt write a ticket for anything else, and said if I dont sign the tickets he's going to take me to jail. :shrug:

All while traffic is being backed up in the intersection. He didnt even let me pull into a lot.

They are allowed to pace you to get the speed at which you're traveling.

It will ultimately come down to your word against his if you try to fight it and take it to trial. Whose do you think they'll believe?

Best bet is to negotiate with the solicitor and ask for it to be reduced so it doesn't get reported to insurance or points on your license.

Pace me? How can he pace at 70 miles an hour in heavy traffic, which is also listed on the ticket. That is my primary point. I know they can pace, but he pulled out when I was coming close to a stop at the next light. 70 mph down that road would cause a damn accident. LOL

I've had a similar encounter. Cop told me he was going to take me to jail if I didnt shut-up.

true...good luck to ya man. I usually never fight cuz it takes too long and too much money. i tried to fight a "racing" ticket (i was doing 45 to lunch) and it costed me a shit load and i'm on probation. fucking pigs
