    Default Graphics card installation help

I've had this ATI 9250 card for awhile maybe seven months now and I wanted to put it in my desktop but when I install it in the PCI express and boot the computer to install the software it won't install the software onto my harddrive. Do I need to do something with the BIOS? Any help will be appreciated, I'll rep if you would like.

You can check the BIOS and see what its set for. You will look ...probably in some advanced settings for something like DISPLAY FIRST INIT and you should have options like AGP, PCI, PCIE...something like that. But if the system is seeing the card and you can get into windows....thats probably not it. What kind of graphics card was in the pc previously? You might want to do a full uninstall of the old grafix card software. Maybe even go ahead and download the latest ATI graphics drivers as well.

I had like a Geforce MX4000 and I was given the ATI and just never installed it. I had no trouble at all putting my Geforce in. I installed it, installed the software, then it wasn't loading using the Geforce, it was using the internal Intel card that came with my computer, so I changed the boot sequence or whatever to get it to boot with the Geforce.

    It's an old computer lol.

It's an '04 Dell that has been maintained/upgraded here and there. I use it for music and stuff mainly, 45gs would fill up my laptop.

Ok, i can tell you right now there is no pci express slot on your mobo. Put it in a regular pci slot (assuming you have an open one) and install. It is really a plug and play type of deal. let me know if you have any other questions
