There are pretty much two reasons that people talk shit about other people's parents buying their cars.
1) they are just fucking jealous that they are stuck in some piece of shit while their 18 year old friend gets a new EVO for his birthday, or
2) They work hard and make money for themselves, but cant afford something that their friend's rich parents bought them, and feel cheated.
either way, I really don't give a shit. I am perfectly happy with my $6k car that I paid for myself. I would rather drive something that I payed for than something badass that was given to me. No offense to anyone who didn't pay for their car. My parents have bought my brother and sister new cars before, but I don't want to be the kid who lives out of my parents pockets until I'm 25. I dont give a shit about what they have or feel cheated, and my parents always treat me with respect know that they don't have to worry about my being on my own. My brother and sister will probably live at home until they are 30 since they like stuff to be given to them.
and by the way, I also make $16/hr and work one or two days a week now (12 or 24 hrs a week) since I am still finishing up college, and I know theres no way possible to pay for a porsche on that income. Maybe if you put your whole paycheck towards the car payment, which means your parents still pay the insurance, pay for your food, pay for wherever you live, etc. I'm not trying to give you hard time but if your parents give you money, its a lot easier to just say "yea my parents give me money, who gives a fuck". don't deny it, it just makes you look stupid.
