I grew up in a town and went to a hs that from the time it was opened til I graduated (12yrs) there were only 10 black people that came through...we didnt ever have an issue with white or black no one was called names and if someone did say something we all said something to them

But see that is something that not many know or care about. You know waht was the saddest day for me?? I was sitting in my Civil Rights class at GSU and there was a scheduled walk out for all the latinos at a certain time, the time came and I got up to leave and it was in the middle of an exam and my professor nodded at me and smiled. You know what I hear as I am walking out? "Fucking **** thinks this is the civil rights era." Do you have any idea how outraged I was that I was the only latina in this class full of black kids and yet NOT ONE of them had the appreciation for what their ancestors did for them like I did? My professor stood up and yelled at the class and forced them to come and march with me because she couldnt believe that these kids had/have no appreciation for their history.

Thats the exact reason why some black people find it ok to use the word like it's nothing....They do not know their history or the sacrifices people before them have made so that we are able to live the lives that we do now.....No self respect or pride........I do not know of any self respecting black person that uses the n word or any variation, to refer to themselves or others as.....

Look I am not arguing with you in particular but what I am arguing is the fact that people are entitled to say what they please when they please. I have been spit in the face and called all kinds of creative things, and yet I hold no grudge because it doesnt phase me. People around me can insult me in so many different ways but at the end of the day it is me that has to come to the realization that they are wrong. Plain and simple. No matter how long people struggle to get rid of this word, it isnt going anywhere.

I commend those that try to educate others enough not to use it, but I laugh also because as you educate 5, 15 more begin to use it in a different area.

sorry love, I do as I please when I please and though I may have several typos, as in spelling. I at least try to use the correct word. You can humor me by pointing mine out, I wouldnt mind. I see it as a chance to better myself.

I love the fact that you understand my train of thought so well from one discussion on the internet. My train of thought has nothing to do with entitled so dont care. It is more along the lines of entitled therefore I will. When I said that I laugh it wasnt out of humor but more out of disgust. As far as maturity goes, vocabulary plays no part in maturity. However education does and I posses this also and yet have yet to change. I think it is more a matter of conformity and I have yet to reach that level in my life.
