You are probably looking in the wrong places, honestly. It helps if the man is educated, perhaps works in the corporate business world, has his priorities in place, etc. He needs to have a sense of purpose and being. Of course, he can't be such a work-a-holic that he neglects his relationships/family (there is a fine line there). Then again, there are guys not in the corporate business world that are just as good. It was just a general example, nothing more.

I dunno... I know that many women want to know that their man is there for them and is ready to take care of them. Nothing over the top in terms of money grubbing or anything like that, but a man DOES have to step up to the plate. A women, when it comes down to it, wants security and some stability. That's what real men do. They step up and support their family (not always in a literal sense as making the most money, but you know what I mean). I've seen too many girls get burned, especially young (18-24yrs old) by *men* who have no real career goals, no real direction in life, and really want nothing more than to focus on their car/going out/partying/etc. Shit, I know some that leech off of their girl friends in terms of money as they are too lazy to get off their asses and do anything.

Unfortunately, the real world doesn't work like that. There has to come a time when one grows up. Many guys never do and that ends up being a contributing factor to failed relationships. The problem with this is that many (most) women are attracted to such qualities at a young age and they get burned early on.
