I hope the Atlanta campus has better artists than the Savannah one then.

I bust my ass, I get offered amazing opportunities, which look GREAT on a resume, and I get my name out to all kinds of people in the field. As we speak I'm having 2,000 business cards made for the conference in October, because I'll be rubbing elbows with big, BIG name designers, and I *will* be prepared if they ask me for my card.

And in the art world, employers DO give a shit what college you went to... Especially amongst schools that have certain strong programs. For example... SCAD has Urban Design.. which basically is about planning urban and suburban developments... IE Atlantic Station, Centennial Park, etc etc... Now, they can hire an architect, and I'm sure they would get a good design and life would be peachy. But, say an architect applies for the job and an urban designer applies for the job... the urban designer has specific training pertaining to not just planning one space, but a multitude of spaces that interact with each other. The architect doesn't.

Yes, SCAD is full of pompous asses, but check out the online galleries... most of us have reason to be a bit smug... and yes, I include myself in that category. I'm a total bitch when it comes to art.

you still haven't answered my question. What is your opinion based upon? their work?

A - 13 people is a small sampling of the student population
B - What majors are they? What classes were they for? There's sound design students who can't draw a stick figure, but can set up a surround sound system like nobody's business... are you saying that their work is not good based on what you think of it?

I already said what it was based on.

I'm not going to get into a debate. SCAD is a nice school and I like it much more than RISD and others.

It's not a debate.. it's just genuine questions. People either love or hate SCAD, and I like to know why they hate it. It's like hating puppies... there's nothing bad about puppies!

Except that they shit on the floor... that gets old... quick...

Basically, all I am saying is that employers are hiring the person, not the degree. In the end, they will care more about your portfolio and experience than where the degree came from. Some SCAD students (from what it sounds like you aren't being lumped into this category) don't seem to realize this.

On a positive note, congrats on the personal achievements.

    Hahaha...Tech started up again today.

Three ways to spot a first-year.

    -Excessive School Spirit
-Tries to explain themselves to the professor/TA when they're late
-They look good...because the stress and the notorious Freshman Fifteen hasn't caught up to them just yet.

Not bad so far...but REAL work hasn't started yet.

x2. They are very easy to spot. They are also overly enthusiastic because they dont realize that tech isnt fun.

Thats so true. I can spot newbies on the state campus cause they bring everything the first day. Backpacks, books, paper, pencils, etc, its kinda funny. All I brought today was a pen and a folder to collect all the syllabuses and papers.

I brought my bookbag...I had lots of notebooks to carry, plus my computer.

I gave two people directions...I felt pretty good about knowing Tech then.

    Oh well, off to class...again.

Most common questions: "am I in the right place?", "How do I get on the internet?"

Lol I'm in class and my professor is using marijuana as an example to explain government.

Oh and the freshmen this year are annoying. Someone decided to go the wrong direction in the parking deck yesterday. Not to mention that they can't find their way around the school.

I actually wouldn't laugh at people who ask that. I've had connection issues all day yesterday. It found the connection, but it wouldn't give me a network address...and when it connected finally, each page took forever to load.

    What's the matter?
