None of the above. I worked in public accounting and one of my clients wanted to hire me out as their on-site accountant. I told one of the partners at the firm about it as soon as they made the offer, we both knew it would happen eventually. I stayed while they looked for my replacement, plus, I had to do everything that has to be done to move 600 miles so it was about 5 or 6 weeks between notice and my last day.

Job before that, I gave about 6 weeks notice as well because we had to hire and train someone.

I've always done my best to give a full two weeks. You never know when you'll need than reference, even if you hated the job.
