If you're talking about running direct X 10, then you also need to buy a dX 10 capable video card. Those are pricey. Plus the only way you'll notice the real advantage from dX 9 is if you use two dX 10 video cards, and a very bad ass monitor. Don't bother unless you're willing to spend $500+ on your computer.
