540i is practically the same car as the M5, a tuned and built version of the M62 engine putting out 100 more hp (M5 and Z8 have the same S62 engine) The suspension of the 540i, M5, and Z8 are all interchangeable and they all have the exact same gearbox.Originally Posted by TRYMY4.0
I started a thread on it a while back...540i 6-speed with OEM M5 suspension or coil-overs dampeners & aggresive LSD, E36 shortshifter, lightweight flywheel (-10 to 12+lbs), upgraded clutch, & then a remote twin turbo setup in the rear similiar to the STS kit for the Vette's. The S62 engine can be built for 500hp all motor (same as the morgan aero 8) or just fab the twin turbo kit with low to moderate boost and be getting close to that with an M62.
Of course i want to fabricate a Porsche big red brake setup too using 13" or 14" rotors
*edit*
it's kinda obvious to most but this is the E39 540i
