And it took 5 minutes.
I called the international customer service line 1800-335-4685 and told them, I was traveling out of the country next week and would like to get my phone unlocked.
Customer service rep said , no problem.
He told me to enter a code in order to get him the IMEI #, I gave him that number, he saw I was a customer for over 90 days and also told me he was going to run the IMEI # through his computer to see if he can get the unlock code..if he could not get it, they will have some techs email me within 5 days with a code.
He puts me on hold, comes back and has the unlock code for my BlackJack... Kick ass.
I always heard people saying just call Cingular and thought it was BS.. I tried it, and it worked like a charm.
There is a law accoridng to the sales rep thats in effect until 2010 that all cellphones companies ( that use SIM ) must unlock your phones free of charge..
Oh well.. I thought it was BS.. is actually real...
