Why is IA so newb unfriendly?

Sort of a rhetorical question, but I know the average peanut gallery will chime in. Anyway, my friend and I were talking the other day, and I had to ask myself, why is IA so newb unfriendly. And I'm not talking the inexperienced, ignorant newb's either, who post bass-ackwards stuff and are a general nuisance. I'm referring to the people who have been on the Atl/street scene for years and decide to join up, only to be run off by the rabblerousers. The one's who have been messing with cars awhile, are well known elsewhere, but are newbs only to this site.

I speak of users like ixlr8, aka the man with the 9 sec spitfire (i hope i'm not givin u away man...) and a few others. Hell, I"ve been messing about the Atlanta scene 6 years, have had my volvo womping ass nearly as long (had a dodge daytona before that) and still am somewhat a newb and are treated as such.

fair enough- I never had any trouble when I started. Its just like a new job- try and fly low and figure out who runs it. Once you have established yourself as "not a dumbass" then fly away. It is the n00bs who start hassling right away that get run off.

I've noticed, especially in the last yr, that the vast majority of newbs come in with a chip on their shoulder and keyboard commando attitudes. If people behave themselves and don't do stupid newb things, the majority of the time they fly low enough on any OG's radar to not be noticed.

When they come in with a big marching band and signs going "look at me, look at me", that's usually when someone gives them a reality check.

With that said, IA is harsher than most when it comes to newby treatment. Good thing I'm not one....

yeah, im still a newb to some but it was hard getting to where i am... ive been owned several times by the OG's... i guess just be patient and take your time to meet them in person. i used to hate ia because of all the douchebaggery but ive learned that its all fun and games! lol
