libby was a fall guy, plain and simple, do you even remember, or know for that matter, what the original investigation was about? if youre gonna start an argument atleast come to the table educated, libby was never charged with outing valerie plame, he was charged with one count of obstruction of justice, two counts of perjury and two counts of making false statements - hardly disclosing the name of a CIA covert agent, or conspiring to do so.
back to my original question, since i know you dont know the answer, the original investigation was to find out whether or not the identification of Valerie Plame was a violation of federal law. The answer to that question is apparently NO. it's a safe bet to assume that the identification of Plame was not a crime, either because she was not a covert CIA agent at the time the identification was made, or because the person making the identification was not aware of her status. The evidence shows to be that she was not covert at the time she was identified. No crime, end of story.
libby was not charged with disclosing the name of a cia covert agent, libbys lying to the grand jury is no different than what bill clinton plead guilty too, and even had his arkansas license to practice law revoked because of - yet its bush whos a douschebag.....the fact is that libby was prosecuted following an investigation of an action that did not constitute a crime under our laws.
btw, it wasnt a pardon, it was an executive clemency, meaning the guilty verdict stays, but the sentence was commuted
