Seems like people fighting to retain the rights we have in this country would most appreciate the fact that we get to use them. We are allowed to speak our minds, we are allowed to criticize our government. People were fighting and dying for that over 200 years ago and it is not unappreciated.
In this country, we have freedoms that a hell of a lot of people in the rest of the world doesn't have. And one of them is granted to us by the Bill of Rights.
Ammendment 1 - Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances.
We claim that we want to bring freedom to the rest of the world but get so riled up when someone uses that freedom to disagree with us. People are always going to dislike the government, always have and always will. But we're lucky, we have the right to disagree.
A few more quotes that I have always appreciated
The strongest reason for the people to retain the right to keep and bear arms is, as a last resort, to protect themselves against tyranny in government. -- Thomas Jefferson
The will of the people is the only legitimate foundation of any government, and to protect its free expression should be our first object. -- Thomas Jefferson
The spirit of resistance to government is so valuable on certain occasions that I wish it to be always kept alive. It will often be exercised when wrong, but better so than not to be exercised at all. -- Thomas Jefferson
also funny to see people getting so worked up over a random picture off the internet when racist jokes and slurs are so common. It's okay to not be offended by everything.
