Default $54Million Pants Case Ruled in Favor of Defending Family

    http://abcnews.go.com/TheLaw/story?id=3303910&page=1

Not sure if anyone remembers the judge that was suing a Korean family for mis-placing his pants nearly two years ago. He was suing for around $54,000,000. The acting judge for the case ruled the case in favor of the defending family in what was an idiotic case to begin with. An interview had the judge stating that the only reason it took her so long to issue a ruling, was because she checked every law book she had to ensure that he could not come back on appeal. Also, the suing judge must pay the family's court cost, and is awaiting a second ruling to see if he must pay their legal fees as well.

Chalk one up for the little guy.

yeah I just saw this on CNN. I'm glad he ended up with essentially nothing. And with the legal fees he probably incurred I bet he lost money.

While I do think that this is a good ruling, I don't think that real justice will be served until he has to repay all of the Chung's legal fees. The family spent their life savings on lawyer fees and the wife is so stressed that she wants to go back to Korea. I hope the Chungs take this opportunity to counter-sue the sh*t out of this douchebag.

I agree but it says he was forced to pay all their legal fees didn't it? I wonder if the guy who sued has always been a prick or just tried to capitalize on a chance for a lawsuit.

Finally, they offered $12,000 for the missing gray trousers with the red and blue stripes.
Wow, I would have taken that shit and ran.

He got too greedy. What kind of judge in their right mind would award someone 54 mil for some fucking pants.

    That guy was on crack.

You'd be surprised. I bet they're loaded out the ass.

I have a few distant relatives with dry cleaners. They make tons of money.

    The Chung's had 3.

Koreans are too dramatic when it comes to being the victim.

....and yes, I can say this because I too, am Korean and dramatic as hell.

But yeah, good read. Finally nice to see a court case where the dumbass doesn't make off with all the money.

He's always been a prick. He had a history of filing frivolous paperwork and useless motions on the behalf of his clients in order to charge them more money.
