For the past couple of years I haven't been downloading any music due to geting viruses in the past. Where do yall download from? I need to find just about any song, and it needs to be safe. Any suggestions.
Thanks

Yeah, that's illegal...
I use limewire
Along the same lines.....I'm told that fidelity is a big difference between paying sites like Itunes and Napster to share sites like Bearshare and Limewire.
Is there a noticeable difference in fidelity?
If so, how can you tell which ones are good and which ones aren't?
i was told to use torrents and azureus to open the torrents, i also heard limewire as well
use the torrents and download yourself a good virus protector....ive wouldve had 0 problems whatsoever by using this and i couldve been dl'ing music, movies, etc for almost 8 years
ill have to look for the freeware antivirus/popup software im using...it automatically detects and corrects any problems that may get past nightly, runs a full computer check overnight every night iirc
That info will get you some pos reps from me.Originally Posted by MR.org

Thanks.
160kbps is standard cd quality...i typically go for 192kbps but i've also listened to MANY that were just 128kbps and couldn't tell that much of a diff at all. anything less than that though and there'll be a noticeable decline in quality.
Also check the sizes of the files, a movie thats less than 1gb? Hmm
^^^nothing wrong w/that, used to be that all divx movies were 700mb so they'd fit on a cd![]()
96kbps FTW
Republic of India quality sound file. came on a floppy disk.
What about the ones that are way above 160kbps? What's that mean about those? I notice the file size is much bigger, but is the quality any better?Originally Posted by shagwAg3n
depends on what you're listening to them on.....if you're just listening to them on your computer or ipod, you probably won't be able to tell the difference. but if you were listening to it on some high end audio system, then yes. after all, they don't make the file size bigger for nothing :POriginally Posted by Jaimecbr900
Most of the torrents are good quality. There are very few fakes because a few people will find out that its fake and won't download or seed it. That means nobody else can download it and the torrent dies.
It is very hard to tell a difference in quality between 160kbps MP3s and the actual cds. Oh and the better the quality is, the more space each file is going to take.
If you've never used bittorrent before, google it and read up about it. Its basically goes like this:
1. Someone wants to share something so they create a .torrent file. This contains the list of files, the file sizes, and other info about the files included.
2. You either save the torrent or open it directly into your bittorrent client and it downloads the files.
Anyways, I use uTorrent (www.utorrent.com) because it isn't as resource intensive as some clients. www.torrents.to is my favorite torrent search site.
EDIT: If you want to keep all the crap off of your computer, I would suggest Spybot Search & Destroy. Its free and its recommended by all the computer magazines for a reason.![]()

go to www.piratebay.org/
you can search torrents there, movies, albums, video games... anything you want. then use utorrent to download it and open the torrent, piratebay lets you see how many people are sharing the file and even features a comment page for each file so you can read from other people if its legit with good quality picture and no viruses
hope that helps
