great info man! I shop at best buy a lot, (yes i see that the article is on circuit city) and the salesmen say they are not on commission but, everyone is on commission in the sales business. Whether or not they are actually paid according to the price of the item they sell, there are incentives offered for selling certain products, accessories, etc...

I work at blockbuster, and we are supposed to sell a certain amount of; online memberships, snack cards, rewards memberships, etc... to recieve a bonus every quarter. I only BUG customers about these offers during 'mystery shop' time when I get rated on my performance.
I also use to sell big screen tv's and projectors for a company called REX electronics (currently closing stores all over the country) in central NY state. We got paid big $$ for getting extended warranties that are bullshit, and we did the same thing as number 5 in that link says!
