Red wings are the shit. I have a pair of GoodYears (yes same people that make the tires) they are probably 8 years old and stil kicking. My Red Wings had to be replaced every year but that was in a shop getting brake clean and oil and shit all over them every day. The good thing about Red Wings are once you pay for a pair, you never have to pay for a pair again, they just replace them for free. They are pretty comfy if you buy the inserts.

you don't need construction boots for that.... i've done work like that before, i've worn tennis shoes, rockys, and anything in between.... now if you have bad joints, or back or something.... i vote contruction, cause they are probably made for comfort and long hours on your feet...

I would never buy a pair of steel toe boots. They're great if you drop soemthing heavy on your toe because they will protect you. Now, if you drop something on your toe that is Extremely heavy it wil crush the steel onto your toe, and you will have to get it surgically removed. (i've seen it happen and it's not pretty!)

I mean what can I say............................. they feel pretty decent for steel toes, and look pretty good also. I got mines from Bass Pro Shop and they ran the government about $80-$100.

If you're installing sprinkler systems you should be fine...There's not much you could drop on your feet that would crush the steel while installing sprinklers. Just thought I would give ya a heads up.

Myth Busters did an episode on this. They proved the steel can curl around and cut your toes off your foot if something really heavy is dropped on or your foot is rolled over by a large truck
