i 100% agree, If you ahvent done anything wrong there is nothing wrong with police, i personly know a few cops that would LOVE to come to the meets to protect and serve, but also talk cars!, i got pulled over one time just to have the police officer say he thought my car was nice and wanted some information on it
The presence of police at the meets i would say are a plus!
keeps dumbass's away, keeps shady people away, and overall makes it more safe and enjoyable.

Boots are always a negative. Especially when you've paid, for 1, and 2, Just got there moments before. I was booted momentarily for nothing. I was just coming back to the car, I figured at that moment the V is dead. So ladies and gentlemen, that was my first and last varsity burn out. So I atleast made my drive almost worth it. Not like that guy back in the winter with the white Scion TC doing burnouts with his doughnut spare. That was very foolish

I'm not condoning the burnouts there but lets face it, it's a part of of automotive history: since hot rods & rat rods in the 50's, muscle cars in the 60's & 70's,then the 80's, 90's, and today...does that make it right? No. Could or does it endanger people when doing it in a public place? Yes. Does 30-40 people standing around cheering it on promote it? Yes, and those are the only people that are in danger.
It's private property, other than trespassing or destruction of private property you can't be fined or cited. It's pretty simple -- show a reciept, cup, bag, anything and you can't be booted or don't have to pay to get it off...but there is a 1 hour parking limit [unless you pay the $2.50 or $5 i think?]

This shit has been going on since the varsity was first open back in the day. and the last time i was there i watched a cop roll onto the premesis while a burnout was taking place and nothing happend. probably because the place was so packed he couldnt get through but still...

Some friends told me that someone was running their mouth about what was on the air! You know I am sorry that I enjoy going to the V to see some of the nice in-ports, I am into muscle cars but every car, no matter v, 4,6,8,10,12 its all the same, seeing what people can do with them! That is what makes the V, yeah also some of the cars down there are some of the most bad ass cars in GA, much less the south!
But you know what pisses me off, people running there mouth about what I got to say and how I feel and some one saying bad things about my friend Brooke... That pisses me off and you know most people would kind of defend their friends, keebs thanks! As for the one that said i need to get a treadmill! Like i said in another thread tho, do it around me and put my life in danger agian (its happened before out here) and your car will be keyed, no questions asked. I dont know about lately becasue i havent been to any "V" meets since last year but I do remember some people coming out there with their kids. If I was out there with my daughter and some jackass started burning out near us I would most likely knock some of his teeth out without any hesitation..

Burnouts in a parking lot is illegal. Stated by the cop himself on tv. You think that after what you all said and what was on the news that they will be cool about burnouts now? NO! Burnouts do not make the V what it is. People gathering just to hang out makes it what it is. The burnouts just make the rest of us look bad, tonight for an example. We can never had a decent hang out spot because we have people that feel the need to "show what power they have" and ruin it for the rest of us that are minding our own business. As long as there are people like you all in the world, the rest of us "tuners" will always have problems
I didn't see the news feature but you my friend have redeemed yourself as far as i'm concerned. That's a point that needs to be put in the media's face...over and over again until they realize what's going on. I'm sure there could possibly be some tension for some but for the most part the car scene is just about the only time multiple races can be together sharing and bullshitting about the things they love without issues.
Do you have a contact with 11alive now? Media can sway the public to think anything, there is always a positive and negative side and I'd like to see some of us counteract their headlines with letters & e-mails to challenge to them to open their eyes and see what is actually going on -- our hobby practically defeats a major worldwide issue. The only differences in color is the paint of the vehicles themselves.
