i think i fucked something up...i was leaning over and i felt something move in my chest...about 6 inches above my belly button...ive got a lump there now about 3 inches long and 2 inches wide...when i move or inhale it feels like someone is stabbing me...any ideas what ive done??? i had my gallbladder removed about a year and a half ago and its in the same region...

possible hernia? Could be that the wound has opened it self back up.

you are quite welcome, The surgery is a simple fix, just a tear in the abdominal wall, couple stitches and your done.

Dont do any heavy lifting for along time after your surgery, Just work your way up. Good luck with that.

You need to give more details on how the pain started dear.
When u lean over, did u fall? if u did where?
Does it make u easier to breathe when u sit down, or stand up?
Describe the quality of the pain that u are refering to.
Do you only have trouble breathing?Or there's other pain that were cause from that fall?
from 0-10 0 being the least and ten being the worst, tell me how bad the pain is?

my mom just had a hernia removed from her stomach today...not fun! but it sounds similar to her symptoms except she had a bulge coming out of her stomach. she just had her gull bladder removed about a month ago & they said she cleaned her house too soon after surgery & that's what caused it.

thanks yall...ruah...i was leaning over to pick up a shirt...i didnt fall...i got this weird sensation like a burning then i felt something move...it hurt really bad then...when i straightened back up it felt like i got punched in the stomach...there is a constant pain but when i lay down its not as bad...it hurts when i inhale any more than a shallow breath..when i move its like a knife sticking in me...

Ok Are u feeling nauseated?
Can u locate which part of ur stomach that is the most painful?
Measure ur pulse for me...if it's more than 60-80 per min....u might have a hernia.

The most thing I'm afraid is Aneurysm.So make sure u call 911 if u are feeling
onset of lower back, and abdominal pain
nausea vommitting
mottled or spotty stomach skin
pale,cool, clammy skin in ur legs
ur pulse in ur tigh are slow or absent
feel the lump on ur stomach, does it pulsating?

my pulse is normal...its usually fast...im a little nauseous...but nothing im not used to given my stomach issues as it is...the most painful part is right below my ribs / sternum...the pain is horrible there...its swollen on the rib cage going past it...its about 3 inches long and about 4 inches wide now...its only swollen...not ppulsing or anything...

so i went to the infirmary this morning and they think its either a cracked rib or i broke up some scar tissue from my surgery...both are very possible considering i kickbox 6 days a week...they said to take it easy for a few days...see how it does...no lifting, etc...if its not better by next week to see a doctor...but either way there is not much that they can do for it...just takes time to heal

theres a little piece of bone that hangs off your sternum called th xiphoid process (sp) it sounds like you might have bruised or cracked it.. get a chest x-ray
