Just wanted to post one quick thing about customer service.

When Tanks car was at our shop and having huge issues with all of the second and third hand parts he bought fitting properly, and his tranny not working due to being assembled wrong. We gave him a rental car for a whole month free. Even though we didn't sell him a single part, and he brought his own stuff to be installed. We still felt sorry for him and his situation, being he had no car to drive and it was taking so long to finish because nothing was fitting right. Did that get mentioned once during all the bashing of our shop..... negative.
I find it funny how he is now trying to bash someone else because things aren't going his way.

Here is your problem, you only get to pick two.

    Cheap
    Reliable
    Fast

I am sure we can figure out which ones you picked.

Trying to build a fast and reliable car with cheap parts is never a good combo, it just doesn't work.

Always said you gota pay to play.

For Mike and the guys at MSP, I wouldn't sweat it too much. Noone pays any attention to what he says anymore anyway.

I was about to post up the same exact thing. Tank has been a pretty nice guy each time I've talked with him and there is definately nothing wrong with buying used parts for your car as long as they're not a wear item.

If you're going to drop big bucks building a motor just spend the money to have a brand new motor with new internals, overbore it slightly so that you can get a good fit on the pistons; use new bearings, rings, etc and be sure to change the oil frequently at the beginning. Race quality fluids are also a must for a build like this. Who mods a Supra like a Honda?
