    Default Points reduction

Does anybody know how many points the DMV's points reduction class removes from your license?

And is there anything else that you can do to remove points from your license?

I'm pretty sure it's 7. I lost my license when I was 17 for 6 points. I remember my points were reduced to zero after I took a defensive driving class. A friend took the same class and got his points reduced from 8 to 1.

Edit: A thing I found online says that Georgia law states that drivers can take the 6 hour defensive driving class once every 5 years in order to reduce up to 7 points from their driving record.

If that is the case, then Georgia is fucked up. Everywhere else I have lived it was 12.

    15 points over 24 months:

The State of Georgia is authorized to suspend your license if its records or other evidence shows that you have accumulated 15 points within 24 months under the point system, including violations committed out of state.

I just called the DMV (they were closed when I made the post). The lady says that you are only allowed to take the class (in georgia) once every 5years; and it reduces your points by 7. You can lose your license at different ages @ 21 and under you only have to accumulate like 8 points or so and 21 and above i think is 12 or 15...something like that.

Oops. I didn't read the first post right. I thought you asked how many points until your license is revoked.

    What a dumbass. My bad.
