    Default Our new investment...

    we put a contract on a new house a few weeks ago, now we just have to wait for it to be built. we go pick out the colors within the next few weeks...this is similar to how it will look, just different colors on a different lot...

    this is our lot. it's a little under an acre & even has trees in the back & 4 right on the property line these pics are from before they started grading, which they finally started late last week...

    a three car garage is just what I wanted but I couldn't find one at a decent price. congratulations! Since you're building from scratch you should have equity by the time you go to closing.

    it's got 3 bedrooms & the space above the garage is a bonus room that we're having them finish, including a separate a/c unit. we're trying to decide if it will be a play room for the kids or an "entertainment room" for us.

    we're waiting to see how far back they're going to place the house on the lot, but right now, it looks like we won't be cutting down many trees...probably just enough to make space for a small trailer to be parked back there out of sight.

    it's right on the barrow/jackson county line, but the address is winder...about 10-15 minutes from road atlanta.

    cool deal... a friend of mine lives up just north of me right across the hall county line and has the same floorplan but a few extras like stone entryway and a bigass corner lot. i'm not a big fan of how they just clear everything for a strip along the road and plop houses on it, but i guess as long as you can't spit on your neighbor's house from yours then you're in good shape these days.

    klaud, i thought you were in gainesville???

    ours will have either stone or brick around the front door, depends on what matches whatever colors we pick. i hate how they clear out neighborhoods now, too, but after looking at just about every neighborhood in barrow & jackson counties, we realized you don't really have much of a choice. like you said, if you can't spit on your neighbors house, you're doing pretty good. the guy 2 lots down from us in the cul-de-sac is sitting on a little over 3 acres...he got lucky!

    yeah well, in my situation, i would be "the ladies" & i don't know that i feel like cleaning up all that mess. & you have tile floors, a little easier to clean than carpet

    besides, i doubt anybody would show up anyways because we're going to be so far out.
