I'm not thinking too clearly right now. Explain what this is saying, please? Is this saying they are monitoring more closely stuff like Limewire? Later, QD.

Damn.... that sucks.. I've been a downloading fool for the past 4 years, got my 250gb hd full of games and movies... oh well, BT was fun while it lasted.. I'm on Charter, but it's only a matter of time before they start doin' the same thing. I've already been caught twice, once by Comcast 2 years ago, and once by Charter last year.. they just threatened to have my account canceled... boohoo. But when I start thinkin' about wakin' up to the FBI in my bedroom, eh...

alot of what is written in the comcast memo seems to be directed to employees of the company on company computers. Not consumer accounts.

    ok got a question.

i use FTP at home - but it is for work purposes - uploading shit to my web site and the work web sites - totaling about 35 sites. are they going to get me for that? its work related.....

also - i only download on limewire every now and then.....are they just looking for people with major bandwidth usage - cause i only download like one song a week - if that. i don't use much bandwidth and i don't let people upload from me.....

sorry, just need a little help. i have comcast and they suck ass, but bellsouth dsl sucks out here where i live - and charter doesn't give service out here.

^ they article looks like it was meant for both employees/customers... if you go over 50% of your bandwith then they are going turn those accts over to be looked into... i don't think it will really matter i used to run both a webserver and a radio station from my home acct

I'm don't see why hosting files on you own server is going to make a difference. if you download photoshop off a p2p or off someone's personal server it is still going to take up the same amount of bandwidth. Not that hosting your own server/site isn't cool (I do it all the time for testing sites before I register them and upload).

actually its quite different, they can tell where your traffic is coming from wether its just someones personal ip is hiting your machine or a p2p. its not quite as obvious w/ your own personal server, plus its always nice b/c not all networks can allow p2p traffic (school/work/etc)
