don't generalize, i'm not "used to" any of the help given to me by my parents considering we started at the bottom...

Well was this how it was as you were growing up? (meaning you remember your parents "starting from the bottom" and watching them get better). If thats the case, then that comment does not apply. Im saying to the people who have grown up in 10 bedroom houses all their life and have always had money around. Unless the parents are hard asses, they get most stuff handed to them and don't know what its like, its not the kids fault by far.
