    Talking this guy may be onto something...

    taken from a newspaper's forum section:


    -Don't help people sit on their rears-

    I have a question, not only for Douglas county, but for the entire state of Oregon. Like a lot of folks in this state, I have a job. I work, they pay me, I pay my taxes and the government distributes my taxes as they see fit. In order for me to get that paycheck, I am required to pass a random urine test, which I have no problem with.

    What I do have a problem with is the distribution of my taxes to the people who don't have to pass a urine test. Shouldn't one have to pass a urine test to get a welfare check, because I have to pass one to go earn it for them?

    Please understand, I have nothing against helping people get back on their feet. I do. on the other hand, have a problem with helping someone sit on their butt. Could you imagine how much money the state would save if people have to pass a urine test to get a public assistance check?

    i'm with everyone else.

    i hate seeing that i'm paying for someone to sit on their butt all day and do nothing, but watch tv, go shopping, get their hair and nails done, and so forth. it's aggravating!!!!!!

    Damn dude that would be great.

    I hate welfare- well I hate those that abuse it. which is well over half of it sadly, there are people who need it though, and they deserve more. Even if they kept the amount the same and just dispursed it to the people who truly needed it, we'd all be living great.

    i agree but i would prefer for the urine test done to the person on welfare to be more strict than for those of use who actually "WORK" for our money...cause alot of people can do drugs and still have ways of passing drug test....


    do u know how many less 36" rims on $300 cars there would be if this actually went into effect...

    ya as GREAT of an idea as it is...guarantee a lawsuit would follow saying it violates the privacy of those on welfare, etc

    actually I proposed this to my gov't class a few years ago.

    the teacher and several students cursed me as a facist(I don't think they know what that means) and a racist.

    I'd love to hear some excuses for why this isn't a good idea.
