There are more of them around than you would expect. I saw one in SC back in the 80's. Saw it regularly because the guy drove it work, which was near my house. Parked next to one at a gas station south of Chicago. I've seen one around Atlanta and quite a few random ones over the years.

yeah there's a place in texas that bought all the all original parts when they were liquadated (sp?)...for about like 30K you can get a new Delorean (all new parts and what not) for about i think $15K you can get a fully refurbished one....
