Note how the officer told you to just -- "Mail it in" You NEVER do that. Hes trying to screw you over. Show up to court and the judge will reduce it based on your driving record. Hell, you might even get the ticket dismissed IF the cop doesnt come to court. I had a reckless driving ticket dropped because of this once.

Unless someone who is the exact same age, drives the exact same car, has the same driving record as you and lives within just a few blocks of you and has the exact same insurance company and coverage as you is on IA and got the same ticket you did... NO ONE here can tell you. (yes, if we have an actual insurance agent on here they MAY be able to guess but it's just that, a guess without knowing everything about you, your car and your record) Call your agent or just wait. If you don't want them to know you got a ticket... wait... and save up some money in the meantime. They will find out eventually though.

If you want to know how much it is then depending on the county/city either go to their site and enter your citation number or pick up the phone and call the clerk of courts, nobody on here is going to do that for you...every single department, county, city, jurisdiction in this state is going to be a differant price.
Take defensive driving or at least sign up for it BEFORE your arraignment.
You can try and Sign up for a DD class right now so you get 4pts back on your license! You can atleast show that paperwork in court upon arraignment and try and get some cushion from the judge!

ya i was doing 68 in a 40 only 28 over... still more then 24 though and i should have got my liscence suspended..
but i got a lawyer
and my friends dad shop wrote this thing for me that said my speedometer was off by 9 mph so they lowered my speed to 15 mph and i got 16 hours of community service and im still on probation and my court date was in august.
all my court fines have totaled up to like over 400 dollars cause probation is 25 a month.
