It is possible to pump water in to your car, just unlikely. If any water gets into a fuel tank it will settle to the bottom..(they don't mix). The pumps sit 5-6 inches off the bottom of a tank (typically 92 in diameter). Once there is 3 inches of water in the tank, by law it has to be shut down until it's pumped out. So a good station will not let it get anywhere close. Also, some stations use filters that one drop of water hits it it will swell up and stop the pump from fueling any further. Any corporate store water WILL NOT be an issue. Some of the independents...well if it looks shabby on what you can see, imagine what you can't.
