What's wrong with being selfish if you are young and have no one else to support or worry about? What else is there? When you are pretty much on your own, you live for and do things for yourself.

If you aren't married or in a very serious relationship, no kids, no other family to support or obligations to uphold.... then what else would hold you back from doing what you want?
