Yes, you can trail brake a FF car, yes you can lift throttle oversteer a FF car, yes those are ways to start a drift, but its still not drifting.

But since its not about drifting , just how much FF is a disadvantage, i'll continue.....

Face it, FF cars are in denial that they just aren't as good as RWD.

Whats the most expensive FF car ever offered.. and i dont mean any tuner car, i mean a stock, from the factory, car. Now look at RWD cars, even more proof that rwd is better....
Good call..never looked at it that way.

I still love my FF. Handles nicely in the mountains. It's not a point and shoot car...you just push the gas and then turn wherever you wanna go. I'll agree a FF can't drive, but I still think they HANDLE better than FR or MR. AWD, obviously, takes it home across the board. Except...reliability and power-loss through drivetrain are its downfalls...in my opinioin. They are getting better with reliability, though.

ahhhh AWD does not increase a cars ability to make higher lateral G numbers, it makes a car more stable. Sport Compact Car did a test of FF vs FR vs AWD years ago with stock platforms as well as highly tuned versions on wet and dry. Test included skidpad, dry pavement launching, wet pavement launching and a road course. In the end AWD only had better numbers on wet pavement drag launches over the other cars. I wish i had the article around somewhere.

PS - For the record, I've driven most combinations possible. Have not owned all of these, so don't think my mommy and daddy fund my wrecked cars...I've not destroyed anything...

1994 Dodge Caravan (that's what I learned in!)
1996 Dodge Ram 1500 2wd, ext cab, short bed
    2004 BMW 325ci
    1991 Honda Civic (currently own/DD)
1993 Acura Integra (about to start building)
1962 Plymouth Belvedere (You'll see her at the strip late this summer if all goes as planned)
1972 VW Sandrail (about to begin restoration for the street...used to be driven frequently)
    2001 Passat AWD V6 wagon
    1987 Jeep Wrangler

And no...I don't mean I drove it once around the block...I've had the opportunity to drive all of these for at least a month's time...

I've not been in an AWD car, though...

Would be nice to see...I could DEFINITLY see the AWD taking crown for launches, and out-of-the-hole...basically, coming out of a turn wide open. Basically anywhere that you need all the power quick and getting hte car to straighten up to run.

If they tested a mid-engine RWD platform, it would have excelled in all aspects of the comparison.

I dont' know about the accord, but I know they had an AWD civic and there were so many problems they cancelled the project after just a few years...like...what, 2? I think there was also an AWD prelude; I think it was the same one that was AW-Steering

They're very hard to find. I was desperately after one (wanted to stay with an EF), but ended up settling for the Beat. Oh well.

I've never seen it done, so I'd probably guess that it is possible, but not a bolt in affair. Honda-Tuning magazine did an Integra with a CRV drivetrain one time. TONS of fab work though.

Those electric ATV Power Wheels at Wallmart can drift like a beast. A friend and I once had a 10 min. long hot persuit, with wallmart security, on those things.
