No. What I don't understand is you pick up your life and move it here. Your choice to come to another country that has it's laws already in place. Laws which you probably already knew mostly about. Then you get here and bitch about how it "pisses" you off. If it really pisses you off and it's that big of a deal, then go back so you won't spend so much time bored.

Honestly, that's how I am. I don't care about being rich. I want to be ok and have what I have and not struggle.

I find it kind of sad that drinking plays a role in your life. I've had a great, fulfilling life(so far) and I have never drank alcohol in any of that time.

So the only thing in the US to do to spend money to avoid being bored is party and drink? There are thousands upon thousands of stuff to do here that doesn't involve that. Again, if drinking and partying plays a big enough role in your life for you to get pissed at our laws, then go back. Pretty cut and dry.

BTW, I'm not flaming you now, just conversing. Later, QD.

i knew barely anything about the laws here when i moved(i moved with my parents). i assumed they were pretty liberal, being that you do advertise the whole land of the free thing. second, the alcohol is a minor part in it, the social atmosphere is what matters. everything in america closes at 9 sans restaurants, clubs, and bars(and theaters cut off at what, 10:15 last showing for most?) and yeah partying plays enough of a role in my life to get pissed at the laws. i still don't see why you're getting so defensive over me vocalizing my opinion. it's not cut and dry, what you're trying to sell to me is like me saying you should move to australia because you don't like george bush. i mean seriously. but yeah, you like going to graveyards in the middle of the night and taking pictures of shiny dust particles, i like to go to parties and hang out with friends and girls. i've been to plenty of parties where i haven't drank a drop due to DD duty. the alcohol isn't that big, i don't care about the drinking i care about getting into the damn place.

p.s. i'm just naturaly argumentative. i figure you are too.so yea i understand the no flaming thing, i'm not getting angry over it and i'm not taking it personal. after all, it is the internet.

damn i need to sleep or something. i keep having to edit cause i'm typing stuff differently than i want it to come out, if that makes any sense lol.

I can go with that. And I do understand the right to voice your opinion, but it just gets unnerving when people that aren't from here, come here and bitch and complain that it isn't what they want it to be.

On this comment, you pretty much have zero idea on what your typing. I can tell you that, matter of fact. Later, QD.

haha i had to say it. i'm just a skeptic cause i've never seen a ghost. when i lived in MA, i broke into danvers state one night with a couple friends. we spent the entire night there and nothing happened. no ghosts, no orbs, nothing, just a weird vibe while walking around the place. and danvers state was a mental asylum that got closed down back in 92 i think because they were severely mistreating the patients. it was crazy in there, it all looked as if on tuesday life was going on as normal, and wednesday morning they just left everything as is and vacated. it was crazy. all the gravestones were numbers. no names.
they tore the place down to build condos last year
edit: i think you would've liked the place.

It's all good, man. And I never try to sway or convince anyone of their beliefs. If you believe, cool and if not, also cool. I'll let my website do the talking for me. Nothing is definite, but I do believe. I probably would have liked Danver's. I've heard of it and seen pics of it. One of the first things I learned in ghosthunting is that you are never guaranteed to see/hear anything everytime you go out. I've been on so many hunts and returned home with nothing on tape or video on the majority of those trips. Later, QD.

Trying to book an airline ticket right now and am curious as to what I should expect to pay. Please note that I'm booking a one-way flight for the moment, since I'm not sure when I'll be returning. I do have money set aside for a return flight. The flights I've been looking at have a stop and last about 18 hours. Does the price seem right?

Ah, sorry about that. Yeah, it's $560 + tax and stuff so the final cost is about $690 for a one-way. There was one that went from Atlanta to Houston, then from Houston to Japan with a 50min wait at the Houston airport. I was thinking about that one. The flight is with United Airlines.

I don't have any friends that work with an airline or anything, but I thought about it. Either way, I was just double checking the prices to make sure it wasn't some online scam. Delta's prices were over $1K but they were non-stop. Just wanted to double check.

No Visa at this point. A person from the US can be in Japan for a consecutive 90 days with just a passport.

If I want to seek residence, employment, ect after that point, then yes, I'll have to file for a Visa which can be done either here, or at an embassy in Japan. I may wind up doing that (work visa, ect...), but it's not in my immediate plans.

Yes, and like I said before, that isn't the goal of this trip. This is more-or-less a "self-reflection" trip. I'm going over there to get an apartment, job, and settle down just yet. If by bizarre, random, stroke of luck I manage to find somebody to get me a job, housing, and sponsor a work visa, then great! You'll never see me again! Fat chance of that happening though. Therefore, at this point in time, I hope you can settle for that I'm going for "open-ended" reasons.

lol, my buddy told me I should go over and have some quick affair with a Japanese woman so I can marry into citizenship.

I'll figure that out later. I've got money held on the side for a ticket back should it come to that. I'd rather not spend all my money and get stranded. Pretty much going over there on a dream and instinct. Again, not sure what may or may not be waiting for me over there, but I'll figure it out once I'm there.

Not sure if I'll be wandering around that long or not but thanks. The passport is only valid in Japan for a consecutive 90days. After that, I may return home or just hope a boat to S.Korea and see my extended family then go back to Japan. We'll see.

Go to Belize, bartend, fix boat engines, and fuck the hell out of every hot tourist you see. I was about 2 seconds from doing that before I met my girlfriend....now I am 3 seconds away.

I've got all US military bases and US Embassy locations written down with addresses incase of emergency. Thanks for the tip though.
