Pyramids on...Mars? Word?

So, I was talking to a friend of mine the other day. She was drunk, but trying to explain this whole Pyramids on mars theory. Kinda news to me. I'm looking around the net, came across a few sources of info. But has anyone ever heard of this before? Supposedly the first pictures were taken by Nasa in 1976. Am I just outta the loop?

I thought the movie was hot Ran, thought it was mmmm "interesting" that the white man got to ride off with the Aliens at the end. But the CGI sequence, where the Alien was showing them how lifeforms left Mars and migrated to earth was cool.

The storyline at the end was cool, but the CGI on the actual Alien was so horrible that I couldn't help but bust out laughing in the middle of the theatre.
