Full roof rack for the kayaks and bikes, hatch for the climbing and camping gear...traded the aluminum wheels for steelies so i didn't have to worry about breaking them. Would drive ALLL day long and not see a paved road...never once had a flat and never once hit anything off-road. I did however plow it into a guardrail at 55 mph on a mtn run at 10pm with 285,000 miles on it
Nothing like freshly painted stripes on a road (front left locked up breaking going into a turn). Bought another 1st gen for $800 with 80k miles, swapped front clips and was good to go with 200k less miles and saved about $5 a week on oil
Then drove it for anothe 6 months with the new engine (did i mention it was still the cleanest 1st gen around even though often seen with 2" of mud on the roof?)
As for my '01 Integra....you both daily drive and track an ITR engine with brand new LSD and 8.5lb flywheel using a clutch that will rip the dash off the firewall and tell me something won't break, haha (oh yeah, i took the clutch and pressure plate from a 500hp Civic, sure that didn't help
) Been driving on an ACT street disc with the same Stage III pressure plate for the last 3 years with no problems
