Red light cameras

I think the camera would serve as more of an incentive to stop than to run it. Then again, I'm not most of the people that drive in GA.

Just for the record, I got a ticket from one of these cameras once. I got the ticket in the mail with a picture of my car in the intersection with the caption, "Light has been red for .043 seconds".

Red light cameras do indeed deter regular inpatient drivers from running the light. It won't however stop some drunk driver from T-boning anyone. It's great that they'll have the video evidence to convict, but it won't save a life in any way shape or form from that type of accident.

People do panic all the time though. Happens to me all the time. Like I said, I have one less the a block from my office. I have to go thru it atleast 2 times a day. I see people panicked about going thru it. As soon as the light turns yellow, everyone freaks out and locks down their brakes. I've done it myself, and almost got rear ended.

Although I agree that red light runners deserve a ticket or worse, I also think that if they can't positively identify the DRIVER then it's shouldn't be legal either.
