My yearly "grammar" post/rant v. did you not finish the 4th grade?

As much as I appreciate proper grammar and spelling, internet forums are an informal medium of communication. Most of the time I don't think proper grammar should be expected. In the "For Sale" section, however, I wouldn't likely buy a modified/tuned car from someone who can't spell the products they installed.

There is a huge difference between a fast typer typo and someone who obviously has no concept of neither spelling nor grammar. I don't know about everyone else, but I certainly can tell the difference right away.

What I don't understand is this: IF you really "know" how to spell something.....why would you spell it WRONG on purpose? Furthermore, why would you spell it wrong MULTIPLE times? Same question goes for grammar, why?

Why? That's easy: they do not know the correct usage. You *subconsciously* use the correct form of the word IF you know the correct usage. If you don't, then you fuck up. The funny thing is that IF you are using "there" instead of "their" on IA.com, you probably make the same mistake in your emails/letters as well.
