I had a 13 keg, 850+ people, live band, apartment complex party when I turned 21 back in college. We went around to some of the apartments and asked for dontations to our party to spring for the initial price for buying the kegs (they, obviously, got to drink for free). We then charged $2 a head for all you can drink and pretty much broke even +$200 to spend partying downtown, afterwards.
