I mean hell, the HD-DVD makers are practically giving the equipment away to the porn industry. Sony says, "No way man, we are not giving you ANYTHING."

Sony will never learn. I feel bad for all the PS3 users out there... bought a $600 useless gaming machine. At least Microsoft sells the HD-DVD as an optional piece of equipment and ultimately keeps the cost of their actual console down.
it does matter, hd-dvd can't just "expand" as u so easily put it. it's like the difference between dvd and vcd, sure there can be future versions of hd-dvd but as it sits now, hd-dvd is what it is and in a heads up competition against blu-ray, falls a little short.

either way though, it's way too soon to speak on what will happen down the road, and to say that ps3 owners shelled out cash on a "useless" gaming machine is a statement i can't quite buy into yet.
