be patient and save for something that is actually good, not bc it is marginally better then your current car.

Hondas, Acuras, Lexus, Toyota are prob some of the best cars you can buy for reliability regardless of the class or price tag, you will be getting the best bang for your buck on those brands reliability wise
Have you ever owned or even driven a Volkswagen? I'm not buying for reliability or pricetag.

but they sell hundreds of cars and second to Lexus they are the most reliable company out there.
JDM Power and Associates #'s show that in this order these are the best cars.
    1. Lexus
    2. Honda
    3. Toyota
    4. Acura
if you're on a budget then i would no doubt get a honda, civics look way better then any rabbit and are easy on the gas
Looks better than most cars, and I like it better than the GTI's bodywork. Oh and there is a problem with who your quoting.

I want a Rabbit because I want a Rabbit. I don't like the looks of the GTI, nor do I need to go that fast.
