In the 50's a man could earn enough to support a family of 5. Then women went to work. Twice as many people in the workforce.. guess what will happen? That's right simple example of supply and demand. Now it takes 2 people working to support a family. They have realized they can support themselves. If you don't have kids it's pretty easy to do.
Sure they still need a man every once and a while, but they can pay one to cut the grass instead of being married to one
