You are absolutely right Blank. He nor his family have any kind of right to a tv show. But there are discrimination laws that prevent one being fired or let go based on religious beliefs. If he had stated these same things on the show, that might be a strong case for dismissal, but alas he did not. He was asked a question about his opinion of a certain matter and gave it. It just so happens that his personal opinion is based off of his personal convictions and beliefs in his faith. To dismiss him or cancel his contract/suspend him from future filming based on his opinion given off camera and solely based and rooted in his Christian beliefs could very well be seen as discrimination of his religious beliefs...he may actually have a law suit...hell...people have sued and won with less.
Let us be realistic though. A&E does not actually care about Phil's personal thoughts/beliefs on gays. He and his family are a cash cow for the network. This is a publicity stunt by A&E which will probably bring in even more viewers as this story makes national headlines. That is, if the Robertson's continue to do the show. I am hoping they stand to their convictions and walk away all together...that would be a nice slap to the face no?
