They will say 2008 was a year the United States took a medium sized step towards racial equality. While factually an average president, he will be remembered positively with his historical peers. Like Bush jr., his positive accomplishments toward humanity will go largely unnoticed and unremembered until you turn on the History channel 50 years from now and watch the special on Americas Greatest Presidents. Those that seeked to mar his reputation and paint him as a socialist communist foreign nationalist are slowly dying off so hopefully little of the baseless negativity will be passed down.
