is this really happening? 25,000 signatures required officially for the president to have to address a secession petition. Texas is up to 81,000.

    can this really happen?

Yea it did.....i just shook my head when i read this the other day. I guess there are a few thing that concern my. A only 34000 signatures out of the whole state and now they want to get out. Sounds like those people should just leave.

Also i guess they do not realize how much the government impacts there lives....how many military bases are then in texas, not only that but how many civilian jobs are on these bases. If you leave the union you lose those jobs along with all funding for public university as well as federal funding for schools in your state.....And they said they could run it by themselves, what military would you have NONE!!! And losing all of those goverment aids such as farmer subsides, and then loosing jobs from the civilian work for on bases. You would have little to no state income from taxes and yet they say with lower taxes it would creat jobs and that the state could substain itself.........Even the state gov. Disapprove.

it would be a lot easier to just make 1 person leave.

I had a different idea on the 1 person who should leave.....

give him 20 trillion dollars to go to mexico... in the end it will be cheaper for us all.

    Let's see...

Texans signing petition to secede: 81,000
    Total Texans (2011 est): 25,674,681
    Percent of Texans signing: 0.32%

    Me thinks not likely
