Default What did we learn after yesterday? Deep Thoughts inside...........

Im actually appalled by some of the so called conservatives and how angry and upset they are. Losing gracefully is much more important than losing poorly. Remember that.

Im sure people will sit there and dissect this better than me, but here is my non-partisan take on everything. Also keep in mind I PREDICTED Obama to win, so no sore loser here.

    1) All the mainstream media polls that people didnt believe because of the over sampling of democrats......were true. The conservative polls from guys like Dick Morris, Fox itself, were all WRONG. Romney never had a chance in OH or FL or PA like they reported. Wasnt even close. Well FL was close but not THAT close.

    2) Obama ran a MUCH better ground campaign than the GOP. PERIOD. Lokoing at the individual county numbers, its staggering. He gained 14-17K more votes in Miami-Dade than in 2008. That ALONE wipes out any gains Romney would have made in other counties. He went small, he decided to increase his turnout in states he knew he could win, Romney went BIG, and lost. Looking at OH, he had +10k votes in counties over 08. Hell, Romney LOST ground in places Mccain was in in 08.

    3) Looking at demographics , minorities and women broke overwhelmingly for Obama. This is a major problem for the GOP. They have no solution for it. They have soul searching to do, i will get to that in a minute.

    4) GOP was contingent on winning 74-75% of the WHITE vote. And, if they get that, they win. easily. Problem is that isnt happening. Only 72% turned out, that 2-3% is several million votes, and it cost them 2 elections now. Obama and the Dems are getting a wide demographic, GOP is targeting white people. Times are changing, they cant campaign like that anymore. Which brings me to my last point.

    5) The GOP has MAJOR soul searching to do. They must abandon this Anti-Gay Marriage, Religious only PRO LIFE, anti-minority positions. They need a candidate who will stand up to the religious right and tell them to CHILL THE FUCK OUT. Gay Marriage doesnt mean the end of human morality, Pro-Choice doesnt mean abortions at every gas station, Illegal Immigration reform doesnt mean deport all mexicans.

In closing, i still believe they are right (GOP)on economics, and the next 4 years will how that, or it wont. Obama can no longer blame Bush or the problems he inherited. So unless we see major improvement in the economy, it will be obvious his policies of tax and spend arent working. But that is to be seen. Conversely, if the economy picks up and we return to 4% UE, $2 gas, home prices rebound, ill be the first to say "Thank you Mr. President." I just dont see that happening.

Id advise against the doom and gloom stuff, we saw that 4 years ago, and you know, we are all still here. Some of us better off, some of us not. Its not the end of the world. Obama isnt the anti-christ. Its pointless to predict where we are going to be in 2 years. I am not rooting for failure, im rooting for a better country. When people say stuff like "lets bet on how bad it will be in 2 years" it just sounds like conjecture to me. It sounds like you are hoping it to get bad so you can say "see i told you so" . Im not in that camp.

I hope im wrong about everything i think is going to happen. I hope for everyones sake, the economy improves and that our elected leaders learn to work together, not against each other, and most importantly , not against us.

    That is all.

Good Night, see you in 2 years for 2014 Mid Terms.

LOL. I like the last part, straight up calling me out. Sorry, but I just do not hold faith in Obama and his policies. Maybe I will be wrong, but I am just putting it on the net for record, I think with more and more spending the dollar is going to break sending us into another recession. Plain and simple. With UE, I say this because I know to many business owners that are already making plans for higher taxes and Obamacare. Plans which involve moving business and UE.

You may see it as that, but i wasnt specifically calling you out. I dont have that much time to target specific people.

I just think theres an overwhelming amount of bloodlust coming from conservative people, its sad really. You dont make the country better by preaching doom and gloom

i'd like to reiterate..human morality is already in the shitter. while i dont approve of gay marriage..it is what it is. i also dont like the abortion aspect as being an option, at all. while this may sound hypocritical, only way i see abortion as a POSSIBLE option, is if someone is raped, but still then i believe the baby should be put up for adoption, if the mother feels that strongly against not wanting the child. that's my perception.

one of the MAIN things i dont see coming while obama (or any president) is in office is consistent $2/gal gas prices...yea we have 2.95 here now, but i know it's going ot hike right back up. but i do think unemployment will drop and homes will gain SOME value back...the debt...i think it'll drop, but probably not significantly..if any significant drop..it'll be between now and his 3rd year...4th year it'll stabilize

I have a lot of respect for Romney after seeing the candor he displayed after congratulating the president during his concession speech. The same couldn't be said for his supporters who classlessly booed Romney when he congratulated him. It speaks volumes about the new conservative movement. If those conservatives were really about fixing things and less about booting Obama out of office, Romney would have won, and I would have been alright about it. Shit, I may have even voted for him.

If Obama was really about fixing things, the nation wouldnt be in the debt its in and our nation wouldnt be as divided as it is. Obama's campaign was a campaign of blame, not answers, not results.... blame. Unfortunately, america was stupid enough to accept excuses.

I didnt watch the concession speech will have to tonight.

I do think if you really care about your country, you lose graciously. And you win graciously. I didnt really understand the Conservative outlets that were bashing Chris Christie after standing with Obama and thanking him for his help during Hurricane Sandy. People were skewering him and claiming he threw the election for Romney. That is what is wrong with our country. Its sad to see people think that way.

While you may not agree, the way this country pulled together after 9/11 we may never see again. Not in our lifetimes.

i easily agree with this...i think this is as divided as this country has been possibly since the 60s/70s. it's really sad to see, and it's not OBVIOUSLY one way that this 'division is'...it's both ways..the pictures and tweets i see are ghastly right now.

a black girl on my TL on twitter said people in SC only voted for Romney solely on the color of their skin, while yesterday she stated that's why she voted for Obama, so i asked when i saw that...'so why did you vote for Obama?' and she tried to play the dumb card 'what do you mean?' smh..it's like i said in another thread, people dont realize the amount of chill they need to have because alot of what they are doing is adding to the division. Obama won, great, dont post ignorant pics, wear shirts that have Obama's face on it and say "swag" i mean, if anything, IMHO it degrades what he is TRYING to accomplish and what he stands for. yea he might be the 'hippest' president elected, but be professional about your support about him, just like others need to be professional about their not being in full agreeance with him being re-elected.

Obama is the president. He is to blame. Obama himself said the same thing...... obviously before he was campaigning.

Obama deserves to be held responsible for his record as president. As much as people want to give him the benefit of the doubt and not too quickly seal the legacy of our nation's first black president, his record did not in any stretch of the imagination come anywhere remotely close to making a case for deserving a 2nd term. Obama did not earn anyone's vote, he was given a 2nd chance. I think at the end of the day we found out that our country is more intolerant of religious differences than it is racist, at least on the white half, that combined with the unconditional support of minorities was enough get Obama reelected. Obama had the minority vote from day 1 no matter what he did, all they had to do was scare some of the white people away from Romney. Mission accomplished.

Please tell me you're not this simple. Do you really feel i did not answer your question?

sometimes when i talk to you i feel like i have a 7 year old girl telling me "i know you are but what am i"....

Yes Romney spent a lot of time blaming Obama. Obama is to blame. Obama is the president. Obama himself said he would not be reelected if the things that happened, happened. Just chalk that up as 1 more thing Obama was wrong about.

To be honest I am not surprised at the result, disappointed but not surprised. This nation has a disease that has been terminal for a while. With entitlements, moochers, wealth-envy and sheer laziness being the symptoms. We as a country are sliding into a socialistic state, there will be no moment, no bill passing, no military action or martial law event that we can point a finger at. One day our children will look back and compare the last 100 year and shake their heads. To those left stunned that Obama won, How could he not??? His administration gave millions to the evil banks, gave people 99 weeks of unemployment, removed the work clauses in welfare, gave 47 million more people food stamps. If someone were paying me I would vote for them too. Regardless unless the GOP moves more libertarian and drops the religious/anti-gay/ anti-abortion language this is going to be a single party system. The GOP put up a White, millionaire, mormon against the master chameleon and a slanted media. I am curious to see what happens with the Benghazi investigation but i doubt much will.

Just remember; "America will never be destroyed from the outside. If we falter and lose our freedoms, it will be because we destroyed ourselves." Abraham Lincoln
Try not. Do or Do not.

Some of my first thoughts after the election.

    1. Obamas speech sounded a whole lot like '08. Then when he got to DC, he told McCain, "the elections over, I won". That is a display of poor winning and arrogance that I have never seen from a President before.

    2. The GOP has run out of religious nut job voters to counteract the moochers. They need to dump the anti gay, anti abortion crap and bring those conservatives into the fold. There are hundreds of thousands of single issue voters that would be voting GOP if they dropped those stances, instead they vote dem.

    3. IMO, a lot of the hatred for Obama is his arrogance. He doesnt like a law, he just counteracts it with an executive order. Something doesnt look good for his admin, he covers it up with executive privilege. I think it started in the first month or so of his admin also. The stimulus was hated by the large majority forced through anyways. The black panthers case was dropped citing no evidence, the damn evidence is still up on youtube. It only got worse with Obamacare and the tricks and bribery used to pass that.

    4. The country is FAR more divided now than it was even during Vietnam. The last time it was this divided was the late 1850's and its only getting worse. There are so many different issues for so many people its going to be nearly impossible to bring people together. Every time I look at the cash taken out of my paycheck I get a little more pissed at the welfare sponges and life long parasites that are sitting on the couch in their govt paid for house/apartment/dwelling wasting my money. I cannot see any good reason for me to take care of someone who has no inclination to take care of themselves. Let a few of them starve and maybe a little ambition will return.
